Golden embers, sometimes called magic dust, are used in B-vent & direct vent gas appliance fireplaces. This product is dusted on the mineral wool embers and helps add that golden glow to the flame. Replacing the golden embers and mineral wool, should be part of your annual maintenance routine, along with cleaning the glass.
